A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

I love the way that Kindler can be so blasé about the layoffs, saying they "can be carried out without affecting productivity and morale"; try telling that to the thousands who'll be out of a job! Of course, I guess it's easy for him to say this, safe in the knowledge that even if he does get the chop for poor performance he'll most likely receive a bumper pay-off...

I so agree! I hate these corporate fat cats who play with other people's lives, like they don't matter. It's the same with the bankers, they take all that government money and then give themselves big pay rises. It's disgusting!

I quite agree Jaime. Big Pharma is hardly the most popular kid on the block among the general public. Pfizer's attitude towards the thousands it is about to cast adrift will do little to change this.
