Recruitment and retention: major challenges in clinical research

There are many challenges currently facing European clinical operations managers. However, the biggest challenges are arguably the recruitment and retention of appropriate personnel to conduct studies. Worryingly, this is set against a background of an increasing number of drug candidates entering pre-clinical and early-phase research: managers will soon be faced with more studies, but without sufficient experienced personnel to conduct them.
